A Call for Humanity: Reflecting on the Global Pandemic
Today, we are facing a very difficult situation across the world due to the COVID-19 pandemic. All of you must follow advisories that come from governments around the world. You, along with your family, should isolate and stay at home to stay safe and prevent this deadly virus from spreading rapidly. We, the citizens of the world, must take care of ourselves.
It is truly painful to see so many people have died due to this pandemic, but we must remember one thing. In many cases where severe symptoms were observed, the individuals had pre-existing diseases and conditions. We have brought this situation upon ourselves because we did not take a stand against all the wrongdoings happening around us. Neither did we take care of our environment nor the essential needs of the poor or needy people around us. We have seen many people begging or going hungry on the streets, children working instead of going to school. In our pursuit of advancement, we often ignored the difficulties that people around us were facing. To climb higher, some of us may have even played foul by dragging others down.
I still remember the image of that 3-year-old Syrian boy who died, saying he would complain to God about everything. Look at what has become of us. The world has witnessed many incidents like this. Just imagine how many complaints God must have received...
The world has come to a standstill at a crossroads where not everyone can see the road ahead. We need to set aside other issues and focus on how to overcome this pandemic situation. We still have time; take a deep breath and seek repentance before God. Prepare yourself to become a better human being. Let's allocate our time to ourselves, our families, and our neighbours (if they are in need), and let's also help those in need to the best of our ability.
This epidemic situation has forced us all to stand together regardless of borders, religions, languages, races, or genders. Let's make good use of the time we have and pledge to spread humanity not just today, but every day.
Let us support our governments by following their instructions, and as responsible citizens of this world, let's pledge that once this situation passes, we will not only take care of ourselves and our families but also our environment.
If you think this blog is reasonable, please share it in your groups and let's seek repentance before God so that we can combat this with full force. While we are at home, the entire healthcare industry, public servants, and people's representatives are working tirelessly for us, so do not forget to pray for their well-being and their families.
For the sake of humanity, let's not break the chain of compassion and work to spread humanity around us. Witness how beautiful the world can become..."
